Skiing At Downing Mountain Lodge
Downing Mountain Lodge rests on a ridge 2000 feet above the Bitterroot Valley west of Hamilton, Montana. Rising directly behind the lodge on neighboring Forest Service property is another 3000 feet of northeast facing terrain and numerous backside south facing bowls. With backcountry ski runs from beginner to expert and simple access on a snow covered road, the lodge has appeal to all winter, backcountry snow enthusiasts.
