March 9, 2010 Snowstorm

Out of nowhere a shard of a bigger storm south of us has spun off and slammed directly into the Bitterroots where we have accumulated three inches of snow since 7 a.m. in the valley preceeded by heavy rain all night long. When I get up to the lodge tomorrow I am expecting there to be up to a foot of fresh snow. It may be too little too late to salvage the overall ski season, but with a long droughty summer looking scary I will welcome as much precip of any kind as possible. This band-aid of snow will make skiing last a bit longer and tomorrow’s powder should be something we have not seen much of all season, so get out and enjoy it while it lasts and before the temps rebound to springtime 50s. Good Luck!
