3-6-2010 Alberton Gorge

This passed weekend reminded us all of late April, so we pulled the raft and canoe out of hibernation and launched onto the Gorge in full sun and 50 degrees. It was a great outing with a nice water level and a great shore lunch at Fang where we watched the playboaters and our canoeists spin and dance and flip over. I had not taken my raft down this stretch before and enjoyed the challenge of piloting it through the rapids I usually see from a kayak or canoe. With some rain and snow now in the forecast I hope to be enticed back into the mountains for some more spring touring trips. Good reports still being received from the Missions where there appears to be as much as 30% more snow.
